HELLO and welcome to my website. My name is Katie, and I am a Certified Credit Counselor (retired). I have been working with people and helping them with their debts for about 10 years. I have seen Debt Consolidation companies and Counseling Centers come, and I've seen them go. I've seen The Good, The Bad and I've seen a whole lot of Ugly!

Warning! Credit Scams abound! Because of my experiences as a Credit Counselor I have decided to put up this website. My goal is to help people to educate themselves about credit and possibly to help themselves with their credit problems. If you find that you need further assistance I will be happy to refer you to a REAL Credit Counseling Service that will actually help you to get out of debt. I want to stress to all of you that YOU CAN PROBABLY HANDLE YOUR PROBLEMS ON YOUR OWN. I offer you step by step advice on how to deal with creditors on your own, and in the interim making yourself credit worthy and establishing new credit.

This website is free to use and is designed to be a way for you to understand your situation and the options that you have. Over the last 10 years I have interviewed and helped literally thousands of people to get their bills paid off and to get back on the right track. Explore the links on the menu to the left, and you will understand credit and how Debt Management Programs work, as well as what materials you will need before you speak to a counselor. You will know what to expect before you start.

What you will find here is the truth. You will most likely find that you can handle your situation on your own and that your situation is not as bad as you thought it was. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO TRY TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR PROBLEMS BY WORKING THINGS OUT WITH YOUR CREDITORS ON YOUR OWN BEFORE ENTERING INTO ANY DEBT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM. This website is designed to help you to understand many different options not just Debt Management Programs. Call this Credit Education or a little Pre-Counseling before you decide if you need Credit Counseling.

I think that you will find the information here to be easy to understand and very common sense. I will be adding new articles and easy to use tools as they become available so bookmark and come back often.

As I said, my website is free to use, so look through the many different sections and feel free to tell your friends. If you have any questions you can go to the question and answer page called Ask Katie About Debt Management Programs or use the link at the bottom of this page to speak to me about other topics.

I'm very glad that you stopped by.

Katie
